Nakia 1.11.23.jpg

Hello

My name is Nakia and I love the Lord! I know that the love I have for God is nothing compared to the Love that he has for me.

Over the years, I've experienced many hardships, but through it all, I experienced God's presence in my life.  Each tribulation bought me closer to God through more prayer.

I developed a closer relationship with God as I relied more on Him and less on me. I knew that I couldn't make it without Him and chose to walk a life that is pleasing to Him.

My Story

I'd like to tell you a little more about myself. I am the proud mother of my three amazing heartbeats. Though their ages are 26, 24 and 15, no matter how old, they will always be my babies! I am a Christian, Army Veteran, an avid reader, artist, my favorite color is green, and I love dogs. I know, sounds like a dating profile, but I want you to get to know the real me.

Let's dig a little deeper. My life's journey hit a bumpy road about 5 years ago. The reality of divorcing after almost 25 years of marriage, was soul crushing. I had no idea what to do and was certainly unprepared for what was to come. It felt as though the structure of my life was dismantling brick by brick right before my eyes. I was becoming undone. The pandemic exasperated the stress and hopelessness that I was experiencing during that time. Through it all, I accepted a job offer across the country and had to find a home in a short amount of time. I had to figure out how to keep it together, stay strong and rise above better than ever.

With that being said, I needed the strength to keep moving forward. There's nothing like trying times to humble us and remind us that God is in control. I learned to lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all my heart and mind and not rely on my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).  Only God can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, a trial into a triumph and what was once broken into something very beautiful.

I needed to fully trust God, not just saying I trust God but still worrying. Once I finally placed all my trust in God and completely let go, he turned my setback into a set up for success!

The more I experienced God's presence, the more I desired to learn and grow in Him.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your path (Proverbs 3:6)
